FedEx Refuses to Send Huawei Cellphone Packages from UK to US - The blow is like not whacking Huawei. After President Trump banned companies in the US from having business with Huawei, now even the FedEx shipping company refuses to send the package containing the Chinese cellphone even though it is not a merchandise.
The well-known gadget magazine PCMag tries to send Huawei P30 Pro cellphones from their offices in the UK to the US, but the items are returned to the sender on the grounds that there is a ban from the US Government.
In the PCMag page, Friday, June 21, 2019, said the PCMag Office in the UK which has the P30 Pro will send to the magazine office in New York that needs it.
PCMag staff fill out the shipping form by including the telephone brand. The package left England through Parcelforce, part of Royal Mail. FedEx as a Royal Mail partner in America, got the package to be sent to the address in New York. But what happened, five hours later the package returned to England with a note that it could not be sent because there were US government sanctions against Huawei.
"On May 16, 2019, Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. and 68 global affiliations are included in the Register of Entities that assign US companies to do business with them. Sorry for the inconvenience, "it is written the reason the package was returned to the sender.
A representative from Huawei in an upload on Twitter, said that FedEx "misinterpreted" the government's decision and list of entities. There seems to be no legal reason for FedEx not to send Huawei cellphone packages.
Neither FedEx or Parcelforce did not provide comments and official responses to this incident.
"This is very ridiculous," said Sascha Segan, PCMag New York reporter.
